Bhaishajyaguru, the ‘Healing Teacher’, is one of the most popular forms of the Buddha and is often known as the Medicine Buddha. While still a bodhisattva, he is shown as a seated Buddha wearing monk’s robes, as usual in most of his depictions found in oriental art. In Tibet, he is sometimes depicted seated in his Lapis Lazuli Paradise, and in paintings he is generally colored blue. Innovation piece made in gres glazed in blue and ochre colors. Large porcelain flower. Wooden base included.
