LLADRÓ AT MAISON DIEZ COMPANY 2023

Lladró was pleased to join Diez Company at their celebration of Maison Diez Company, in an edition inspired by the light in Baroque art. A spiritual experience at 34 José María Tornel in San Miguel Chapultepec, Mexico City.

Since its first edition in 2018, Maison Diez Company has established itself as an annual phenomenon, an eagerly anticipated event for design enthusiasts, lighting aficionados, and creativity enthusiasts. Each year, visitors from all around the world gather to immerse themselves in an unparalleled luminous experience.

In 2023, the exhibition remains in the historic neighborhood of San Miguel Chapultepec in Mexico City, with a rich architectural and cultural history dating back centuries. The showcase of 2023 edition is an over 1,000 square meters of exhibition space transformed into the perfect stage for a memorable display: a religious experience with a completely reimagined proposal, in which Baroque art from Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid is amazingly lit with some of the best creations of contemporary brands, with Lladró among them.

Famous paintings created by artists of the caliber of Velázquez, Caravaggio, Rubens, Sweerts, Cranach, and Christus, are exhibited for the first time in Mexico with the fabulous presence of chandeliers by Lladró Lighting collection.

One of them is Mokuren by Naoto Fukasawa, which masterfully combines craftsmanship and design. For this work, Fukasawa has been inspired by the white magnolia tree, which symbolizes eternal bonds, and the striking beauty of its flowers. All the flowers that compose Mokuren are handmade in translucent porcelain, and its structure, as complex as it is poetic, represents the branches of the magnolia tree made of black lacquered aluminum.

Another powerful presence is Soft Blown by Nichetto Studio, inspired by the festive spirit of street artists who create funny shapes with colored balloons on sunny summer days. Chandelier and table lamp are made up of translucent matte porcelain «balloons» with different textures and colors.

Maison Diez Company, the unique showcase combining Baroque art and the newest lighting design, is open to visitors until 31st March, 2024.
