LLADRÓ OPENS NEW POP-UP CONCEPT SPACE IN BEIJING, CHINA

Lladró has unveiled a new pop-up concept space at SKP SELECT HOME, a multi-brand homeware retail destination located on the fifth floor of the SKP shopping mall in the heart of Beijing’s fashionable Chaoyang district. It showcases the brand’s cutting-edge range of New Concept creations and has been designed with contemporary colors and forms intended to emphasize the innovative character of these product lines.

Launched as part of Lladró’s 70th anniversary celebrations, the space showcases the boundless creativity of the New Concept line, the category that includes the brand’s most groundbreaking collections such as pieces designed by renowned international creatives like Jaime Hayon, as seen in the collection The Guest, which holds a prominent space. These creations coexist with the porcelain magic of the brand’s Lighting series, including the Firefly collection, the Nightbloom collection by Marcel Wanders, and the chandelier Belle de Nuit.

For the first five days of its opening, the space is also the first place in China to display the new additions to The Guest collection created by the French designer and illustrator Camille Walala. Based in London, Walala is known for her vibrant and unique work that incorporates bold colors and intricate patterns. In this collaboration, she has applied her artistic vision to two sculptures that showcase her optimistic and energetic style. Combining bright colors with abstract forms, circles and hand-drawn lines, the designs create dynamic and visually striking effects. Based on the artist’s series of artworks “Putting Things In Perspective”, they play with perspective, creating optical illusions and trompe l’oeils. The collection aims to surprise and captivate viewers with its vitality, energy, and playful visual tricks.

SKP SELECT HOME provides the ideal backdrop for Lladró’s revolutionary product lines, echoing the company’s mission to continuously revitalize the art of porcelain by exploring its most innovative creative possibilities. In this way, Lladró shares a floor with a diverse range of international brands, combining a unique taste in interior design with the love and respect for the historic charm of these established names. Being more than a mere department store, SKP consistently reimagines the shopping experience by offering visitors inspiration and a complete sensory immersion.

Through this new pop-up, Lladro’s most recent collections will engage with an influential and upmarket clientele with high purchasing power that is curious about new cultural trends and contemporary art, which enhances the shopping experience and introduces a modern vision of home decoration.

The venture joins a growing distribution network of over 40 locations in the major cities of China, where the brand showcases its latest designs, ranging from contemporary sculptures to home fragrances and lighting collections. This strategic focus aligns with the decision of PHI Industrial, the investment fund and the owners of Lladró since 2017, to bolster the brand’s new product categories in this key market, which not only boasts size but also serves as a hub for other major markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

The pop-up remains open at SKP Beijing until 21 October.
