MOKUREN, PLATINUM WINNER AT THE GRAND PRIX DU DESIGN, CANADA

The Mokuren collection by Naoto Fukasawa was awarded as Platinum winner in the Product Design in Small Series & Hand-Made / Lighting fixture in small series or hand-made, and also as Grand Winner as Product at the Grand Prix Du Design awards Gala.

The 16th edition of these awards was held last October in Canada, with two exclusive gala evenings organized by INT.design to promote excellence in design and architecture. The winners are also published in interior design magazine Intérieurs.

Mokuren is collecting success around the world, certified also thanks to its recent success at the DNA Paris Design Awards 2023, a mirror to the current trends and advancements around the world. There, it was named the winner of the Product Design award in the Furniture & Lighting category.

Mokuren was designed in collaboration with the renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa and is comprised of an exquisitely crafted porcelain chandelier inspired by the white magnolia tree and the striking beauty of its flowers. The warm, inviting light that is emitted is filtered through the translucent porcelain of these delicate elements, each made by hand by Lladró’s expert artisans at its workshops in Valencia (kogei style). “The light of Mokuren accentuates its serene existence when lit. It is a pleasant soothing surprise”, explains its creator.

As complex in its structure as it is poetic, and combining the organic forms of nature with highly skilled craftsmanship, the design is the epitome of the qualities found in both Fukasawa’s and Lladró’s work. As the Grand Prix du Design Awards recognized, “this stunning creation fits within these functional designs with a contemporary style while highlighting the brand’s mission to continue revolutionizing the world of artisanal porcelain”.

These latest achievements highlight the success and recognition that Lladró continues to receive for its innovative collaborations with renowned international designers and further strengthens the brand’s status as a leading exponent of contemporary Spanish design.
