THE STEPS
Spanish horse, made by the sculptor Ernest Massuet, sublimely portrays the animal in motion, as if captured in the middle of the exhibition “How Andalusian Horses Dance”, the world famous show by the Equestrian School.
Virtuosity
Supporting the sculpture on only three legs was a true artistic challenge with high technical difficulty. Maintaining the proportions and the balance of the piece when undergoing the high temperatures in the kiln is a sign of the absolute control of porcelain by the masters at Lladró. The elegance, nobility and beauty of these horses are captured in this sculpture with great anatomical precision.
The deep blue and the gold, contrasting with the white of the horse’s coat, are the centerpieces of the exquisite decoration of this magnificent and elegant example of the pure Spanish breed.
