Classic Porcelain Figurines

For more than seventy years, our classic porcelain sculptures have expressed an artistic language rooted in emotion, tradition and craftsmanship. These creations are inspired by universal themes such as love, family, nature and celebration, interpreted through porcelain with a sense of balance, serenity and decorative richness.

Every sculpture is hand-made in our workshop in Spain, where generations of artisans have transformed porcelain into scenes that connect with people across cultures and generations. While our creative universe has expanded through contemporary, design and pop creations, classic sculptures remain at the heart of our work, preserving the themes and techniques that made our porcelain recognized around the world.

Today, our Spanish porcelain sculptures are present in more than 120 countries, yet every creation continues to begin in the same workshop and follow the same commitment to craftsmanship. From romantic couples and floral compositions to animals and symbolic scenes, each sculpture reflects a timeless artistic language shaped by generations of artisans.

These are sculptures created to accompany meaningful moments and celebrate emotions that remain relevant over time.

The artisanal philosophy behind our classic porcelain sculptures since 1953

Since 1953, we have approached porcelain as a medium for telling stories through form, color and decoration. Our classic sculptures are shaped by subjects that remain meaningful regardless of time or place: love, family, nature, spirituality and shared celebrations. While styles and decorative languages continue to evolve, these themes remain central to our artistic identity.

Every sculpture begins as an original creative concept developed by our artistic team. From there, the piece gradually takes shape through a continuous process carried out entirely in our workshop in Spain. Liquid porcelain is cast into plaster molds before our artisans assemble each individual element by hand, carefully building the final composition piece by piece.

Decoration plays a central role in defining our classic sculptures. Our painters work with a palette of more than 4,000 colors developed in our own workshop, applying tones, finishes and decorative effects that bring depth and character to every creation. Depending on the sculpture, they may combine glazed and matte finishes, delicate hand-painted details and gold, silver and platinum lusters.

Many of our most recognizable sculptures also feature flowers made entirely by hand. Each petal is shaped, assembled and decorated individually before becoming part of the final composition. This meticulous work contributes to the richness and complexity that characterize our classic artistic language.

Throughout this process, every creation is shaped in a single workshop and guided by the same dedication to craftsmanship that has defined our work for more than seven decades.

The most sought-after creations

The sculptures that define our classic universe are often those shaped by emotions and experiences people share across generations. Rather than following trends, they reflect themes that remain meaningful over time and continue to resonate in homes around the world.

Romantic couples are among the most enduring expressions of our classic artistic language. Through gestures, glances and moments of connection, these sculptures celebrate love, commitment and shared milestones, making them especially meaningful for weddings and anniversaries.

Family scenes and maternal themes explore bonds of affection, care and belonging. These creations capture moments that feel both personal and universal, reflecting relationships that often become part of a family’s own story.

Floral compositions and nature-inspired sculptures bring another dimension to our classic world. Flowers symbolize affection, beauty and renewal, while birds and animals convey serenity, companionship and a lasting connection to the natural world.

Together, these themes form the heart of our classic porcelain sculptures, creating a collection shaped by emotions that remain relevant regardless of time, place or generation.

Decoration techniques that define our classic sculptures

Decoration is one of the elements that most clearly distinguishes our classic porcelain sculptures. While the themes themselves remain timeless, it is through color, finish and ornamentation that each creation acquires its own personality and expressive depth.

Our artisans work with a palette of more than 4,000 colors developed in our workshop, allowing subtle variations in tone and delicate transitions that enhance every detail of a sculpture. Soft pastels, nuanced shading and carefully balanced color combinations contribute to the visual language most closely associated with our classic creations.

Finishes also play an important role. Many sculptures feature glazed porcelain, which highlights color and decorative detail while interacting beautifully with light. Others combine glazed and matte surfaces to create contrast and emphasize specific elements within the composition. Depending on the sculpture, our artisans may also apply gold, silver and platinum lustres, introducing reflections and decorative accents that enrich the overall composition.

Flowers occupy a special place within our classic artistic tradition. In many sculptures, every petal is shaped, assembled and painted by hand before becoming part of the final composition. This meticulous process allows floral elements to achieve remarkable complexity while preserving the delicacy that characterizes porcelain.

Together, these decorative techniques define the visual identity of our classic sculptures, combining hand-applied color, finishes, lustres and floral craftsmanship.

How to choose a classic porcelain sculpture for your space

Choosing a classic porcelain sculpture often begins with the emotion or story you would like it to convey. Because these creations are shaped by universal themes, they can bring different qualities to a space depending on their subject, scale and decorative richness.

Romantic sculptures often bring warmth and a sense of connection. Their themes of love, companionship and shared milestones make them natural focal points in spaces where personal memories and meaningful objects have a special presence.

Floral compositions introduce color, detail and a strong connection to nature, making them versatile additions to a wide variety of interiors.

Animal sculptures offer a different presence. Birds, horses and other nature-inspired subjects often convey serenity, freedom or grace, making them versatile additions to many environments. Their symbolic meanings can also add a more personal dimension to a space.

Light plays an important role in how porcelain is experienced. Glazed finishes reflect light and enhance decorative details, while gold, silver and platinum lusters introduce subtle highlights that change throughout the day. Positioning a sculpture where it can benefit from natural or carefully considered lighting helps reveal the full richness of its decoration.

Scale also plays a role. Smaller creations add detail and personality, while larger compositions naturally become focal points. Allowing enough space around a sculpture helps highlight its form, decoration and craftsmanship.

Many of our clients also choose to display classic sculptures near our lighting collections, creating compositions where light and porcelain enhance one another.

Occasions and symbolic meanings behind our classic sculptures

Many of our classic porcelain sculptures are chosen to celebrate meaningful moments and lasting relationships. Their themes often carry a symbolism that makes them particularly appropriate for important occasions, while allowing each person to find their own interpretation within the sculpture.

Romantic couples are among the most enduring symbols within our classic artistic language. They represent love, commitment and shared experiences, making them a meaningful choice for weddings, anniversaries and other moments that celebrate a relationship over time.

Floral motifs carry their own rich symbolism. Flowers are often linked to affection, gratitude, renewal and the beauty of life’s changing seasons. Whether incorporated into a larger composition or presented as a central decorative element, they bring a sense of warmth and optimism to a space.

Family scenes and maternal themes celebrate bonds of care, protection and belonging. These sculptures often mark occasions such as Mother’s Day, births and family celebrations, reflecting relationships that continue to evolve and deepen through the years.

In every case, the symbolism of the sculpture becomes part of the story it represents, creating a lasting connection between the occasion and the piece itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a Lladró classic porcelain sculpture authentic?

Every authentic Lladró classic porcelain sculpture carries the Lladró logo, which serves as the official certification of origin. The logo confirms that the sculpture was created in our workshop in Spain using our hand-made porcelain process. You may also find additional marks on the base of the piece. These are often the personal marks of the artisans who participated in its creation and help identify the makers involved in the process. While these marks provide information about how the sculpture was made, the Lladró logo remains the official guarantee of authenticity and origin.

How do I clean and care for classic porcelain sculptures with metallic lustres?

For classic porcelain sculptures decorated with gold, silver or platinum lustres, we recommend regular dusting with a very soft cloth. If platinum lustre darkens over time, it can be gently cleaned using a soft cloth slightly dampened with alcohol.

Sculptures without metallic finishes can be cleaned with lukewarm water and a few drops of neutral soap. A soft brush can help reach delicate areas and decorative details, including flowers and ornamental elements.

Avoid applying pressure to fragile decorative parts and never place porcelain sculptures in a dishwasher or microwave.

What occasions are best for gifting a classic porcelain sculpture?

Classic porcelain sculptures are often chosen to celebrate weddings, anniversaries, Mother's Day, births and other meaningful milestones. Their symbolism allows them to convey emotions and messages that remain meaningful long after the occasion itself.

Romantic couples often represent love and commitment, while doves symbolize peace, harmony and union. Floral motifs are associated with affection, gratitude and renewal, and family scenes reflect bonds of care, protection and belonging.

Because every sculpture is hand-made, these creations combine personal meaning with craftsmanship, making them especially appropriate for occasions that deserve to be remembered.

Where should I display a classic porcelain sculpture at home?

Classic porcelain sculptures are best displayed on stable surfaces where their decoration and details can be appreciated comfortably. Well-lit areas often help reveal hand-painted decoration, glazed finishes and metallic lustres.

We recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive humidity or locations where delicate elements may be at risk of accidental contact. Allowing enough space around a sculpture helps highlight its form, decoration and craftsmanship while protecting ornamental details.

How do contemporary classic sculptures differ from older Lladró pieces?

Our classic artistic language continues to evolve while remaining faithful to the craftsmanship, themes and decorative traditions that have defined our work since 1953. Contemporary classic sculptures are created in the same workshop in Spain and follow the same hand-made process used across our porcelain creations today.

They continue to explore many of the themes traditionally associated with our classic universe, including love, family, nature and celebration, while sometimes incorporating updated interpretations, compositions or decorative approaches.

Every sculpture carries the Lladró logo as a guarantee of authenticity and reflects the same commitment to craftsmanship and artistic quality that has guided our work for generations.
