Our Nativity scene sculptures are a present-day continuation of one of the most beautiful and endearing traditions in our culture. With origins that can be traced back to Italy at the time of St Francis of Assisi, the custom of Nativity scenes is deep-rooted in Spain, Portugal and Hispanic America and forms part of our sentimental and affective collective memory. Here at Lladró we feel part of this ancient and noble tradition and contribute to it with porcelain Nativity scene sculptures which we have created and made in our workshops following an entirely handcrafted process. Classical sculptures, finished in glazed porcelain and decorated in soft pastel tones, made in gres and decorated with brighter and more intense colors, or in white matte porcelain with details in golden luster, for more contemporary Christmas decorations.
