LUMIO X LLADRÓ SUITES
Located at the center of China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou, Lumio is a project that integrates luxury hotels and salable collector assets. Lladró has collaborated with Lumio in a series of exquisite crossover suites that provide a special immersive experience, presenting art as a part of life.
Contemporary craft, design and art are the very essence of today’s Lladró. A unique mix of talent and, audacity in the quest for excellence, making art from porcelain. Which is a shared philosophy and the DNA of LUMIO: the constant pursuit of beauty and careful refinement in the exploration of endless fancies and surprises.
The collaboration with LUMIO displays some of the most exquisite creations from Lladró at the suites. For instance, Jaime Hayon’s new design icon Embraced, a character which represents to perfection the idea of looking after yourself. An artistic challenge for Lladró artists that looks for the beauty of the form and, more particularly, meaning and symbolism. The Fantasy Series, also created by Hayon fusing a classic Lladró theme such as love and the playful sense that the Spanish creative brings to his designs, are based on fantasy, illusion, and innovation.
Lladró’s Lighting collection is very well represented by the highly imaginative collaboration with Marcel Wanders, Nightbloom collection and the fascinating effects produced by the light that emanates, and the Firefly standing lamp, colorful and refined.
And a special limited edition bust of Salvador Dalí can be also found. One of the maximum exponents of Surrealism is portrayed in a spectacular creation showing his exuberant personality and particular features, such as his unmistakable moustache crowned by daffodils and a note of distinctive bright red in the form of a lobster. This recurring element in Dalí’s work and worn on his lapel comes with a hook that enables it to be used as a brooch.
