NEW DESIGNS FOR THE GUEST UNVEILED AT NEW YORK BOUTIQUE EVENT

Cindy Allen, editor-in-chief of Interior Design Magazine, was the host of a special event that honored NYCxDESIGN award winners and nominees held at the Lladró boutique in New York’s Meatpacking District.

The annual NYCxDESIGN awards recognise outstanding achievement across major areas of design, from architecture to interiors, products to accessories, and craft to technology.

This event was also the setting for the exclusive unveiling of the brand new designs for The Guest collection by the French designer and illustrator Camille Walala.

Based in London, Walala is known for her vibrant and unique work that incorporates bold colors and intricate patterns. In this collaboration, she has applied her artistic vision to two sculptures in The Guest collection which showcase her optimistic and energetic style.

Combining bright colors with abstract forms, circles and hand-drawn lines, the designs create dynamic and visually striking effects. Based on the artist’s series of artworks “Putting Things In Perspective”, they play with perspective, creating optical illusions and trompe l’oeils. The collection aims to surprise and captivate viewers with its vitality, energy, and playful visual tricks.

Since its creation by renowned designer Jaime Hayon, The Guest has become Lladró’s most iconic and captivating character. It has served as a blank canvas for many celebrated international artists, including Paul Smith, Rolito, Supakitch, Tim Biskup, Kzeng Jiang and Henn Kim to intervene and tell all kinds of stories.

The new Lladró boutique in the Meatpacking District opened earlier this year and is set to revolutionize the way customers experience our brand. The first of its kind in the United States, it showcases Lladró’s most groundbreaking creations in porcelain ranging from innovative lighting to stunning jewelry and iconic contemporary sculptures, all displayed in a series of dynamic and immersive spaces.
