Porcelain Sculptures
Whether inspired by tradition, contemporary creativity, original design concepts or popular culture, every sculpture is hand-made in our workshop in Spain. Some explore emotions, traditions and cultures that connect people across generations, while others open new creative possibilities for porcelain or reinterpret globally recognized characters through the language of our craft.
Together, these porcelain sculptures reflect the breadth of our creative universe. Some are rooted in tradition, others look toward contemporary design and popular culture, but all share the same attention to detail, artistic vision and hand-made process that define our work.

Four creative directions in our porcelain sculptures
Our Classic sculptures connect with the artistic language most closely associated with our porcelain. Love, family, nature, flowers and cultural traditions are brought to life through glazed finishes, soft color palettes and detailed decoration. These creations celebrate shared emotions and enduring themes while showcasing the artistry that has shaped our porcelain for generations. Many of our most iconic compositions belong to this universe, where every detail contributes to a sense of harmony and refinement.
Our Contemporary sculptures reinterpret that same universe through a more current visual language. Familiar themes are revisited through matte porcelain, more dynamic forms and decorative techniques that incorporate lusters, contrast and contemporary finishes. Contemporary sculptures update tradition while remaining connected to its essence, creating pieces that feel both familiar and distinctly of today.
Our Design sculptures open new paths for porcelain. Conceived by sculptors, artists and designers, these original creations explore contemporary ideas, unexpected forms and distinctive visual languages. Each piece approaches porcelain as a medium for innovation while remaining rooted in the craftsmanship that defines our work. Some are inspired by the worlds of art and varied creative disciplines while others challenge traditional expectations of what porcelain can become.
Our Pop sculptures bring iconic characters from contemporary culture into porcelain. Disney, Star Wars™, Pokémon™, Hello Kitty®, Snoopy and other globally recognized creations are reinterpreted through Lladró craftsmanship, bold colors and contemporary finishes. Alongside these licensed creations, selected artistic collaborations bring new perspectives to the world of pop culture in porcelain. These sculptures celebrate characters that have become part of everyday life, transforming them into creations crafted with the same attention and artistry as every other piece in our collection.
From raw materials to finished sculpture
Our handcrafted porcelain sculptures begin with a material made from kaolin, quartz and feldspar, mostly sourced in Spain and mixed with water in our workshop. From there, the sculptor’s original idea is divided into the different parts that will form the final piece. Each part is reproduced in plaster molds, where liquid porcelain is poured and left to set before our artisans begin the hand-made assembly process.
Once the porcelain has taken shape, every element is carefully reassembled by hand. Painters then apply color using a palette of more than 4,000 tones developed in our own workshop. Depending on the design, they work with matte, glazed and satin finishes, enamels and liquid lusters in gold, silver and platinum. When a sculpture includes flowers, each petal is shaped and assembled individually, adding another layer of detail and craftsmanship.
The sculpture then enters the kiln at temperatures of up to 2,500°F for around a day. During firing, the piece shrinks by approximately 15%, revealing its final proportions, color and finish. This transformation is one of the most fascinating moments in the process, as the sculpture acquires the appearance it will retain for years to come.
This process is one of the reasons why no two hand-made sculptures are ever exactly alike.
A sculpture for every space and occasion
One of the first considerations when choosing a sculpture is how it relates to the space around it. Smaller creations can bring a subtle presence to a room, while larger works naturally draw the eye and become a focal point within a space. Whatever the size, allowing a sculpture enough room to be appreciated helps reveal its shape, decoration and character.
Finishing also shapes the way a sculpture interacts with its environment. Glazed porcelain reflects light and highlights color and detail. Matte finishes offer a quieter presence and emphasize form and texture. Gold, silver and platinum lusters add warmth and depth, creating different visual effects as light changes throughout the day. This dialogue between light and porcelain is one reason sculptures work beautifully alongside our lighting collections.
The occasion can also help guide your choice. All our creations are perfect for celebrating any kind of special occasion. Contemporary and Design creations complement modern interiors and meaningful gifts with a contemporary sensibility. Pop sculptures offer a distinctive way to celebrate iconic characters and personal passions through porcelain.
Porcelain sculptures can also be combined with other decorative objects from our collections. Pairing a sculpture with one of our porcelain vases can create a dialogue between form, color and craftsmanship while allowing each piece to retain its own presence.
A gift shaped to last
Every hand-made sculpture represents hours of modeling, decoration and craftsmanship. That sense of time and dedication is one of the reasons porcelain remains such a meaningful gift for life's most important occasions.
Our sculptures are often chosen to celebrate weddings, anniversaries, births and seasonal traditions such as Diwali, Mother's Day and the holiday season. The subjects themselves often add another layer of meaning, whether inspired by love, family bonds, nature, spirituality or contemporary culture.
Because every sculpture is created by hand, each gift carries a human dimension that goes beyond the object itself. It reflects the work of the artisans who shaped it and the intention of the person who chose it. Over time, these creations often become part of family memories and shared celebrations, accompanying meaningful moments across generations.
Whether inspired by timeless themes, contemporary design or iconic characters, a porcelain sculpture offers a lasting way to mark a special occasion.

FAQ
What makes a Lladró porcelain sculpture unique?
Every Lladró sculpture is hand-made in our single workshop in Spain. We create our porcelain from kaolin, quartz and feldspar and decorate each piece using techniques such as matte, glazed and satin finishes, enamels, and liquid lusters in gold, silver and platinum. Our artisans work with a palette of more than 4,000 colors developed in our own workshop, and when a sculpture includes flowers, each petal is shaped and assembled by hand. This combination of craftsmanship, artistic vision and attention to detail makes every sculpture unique.
How are porcelain sculptures made by hand?
Our porcelain sculptures begin with an original design that is divided into multiple parts and reproduced in plaster molds. Liquid porcelain is poured into those molds and, once set, each element is reassembled by hand by our artisans. The sculpture is then decorated using colors and finishes developed in our workshop, including enamels and precious-metal lusters. Finally, it is fired at temperatures of up to 2,500°F, where it shrinks by around 15% and reveals its final color, proportions and finish.
How do I know my porcelain sculpture is authentic?
Authentic Lladró sculptures are identified by the Lladró logo, which appears on the piece and serves as the official certification of origin. You may also find additional marks on the base. These are usually the personal marks of the artisans who participated in creating that specific sculpture and help identify the makers involved in the process. While these artisan marks provide information about the piece's creation, the Lladró logo remains the single certification of authenticity and origin.
How should I clean and care for a porcelain sculpture?
Porcelain sculptures without metallic finishes can be cleaned using lukewarm water and a few drops of neutral soap. A soft brush can help reach delicate areas and decorative details. Matte pieces can be cleaned using the same method.
For sculptures decorated with metallic finishes or lusters in gold, silver or platinum, we recommend dusting them with a very soft cloth. If platinum luster darkens over time, it can be gently wiped with a soft cloth slightly dampened with alcohol.
Avoid applying pressure to delicate elements such as flowers or ornamental details and never place a porcelain sculpture in a dishwasher or microwave.
Where are your porcelain sculptures available and how are they packaged?
Our porcelain sculptures are available in more than 120 countries through our online channels, boutiques, shop-in-shops and authorized retailers. Every piece is packaged using protective materials specifically designed for its shape and complexity, helping ensure it arrives safely. Gift wrapping is also available upon request, making it easy to prepare a sculpture for weddings, anniversaries and other meaningful occasions.
